RUNE
GUNERIUSSEN
Photographer & Artist

The Norwegian artist creates the most enchating of worlds, inviting his viewers to weave their own fairy tale to accompany his whimsical creations. The installations made by the artist are not intended as the 'next-trend', instead Guneriussen strives to stay true to his work, the story behind the work, and the message being delivered.
The critics intend that in the "science of planting", the artist piles a stack of books to create a tree, which brings many questions into our minds. Is the piece about the future of deforesting and paper-making? The results of the artworks are surreal and fantastic, and the scenes conclude the idea of a science fiction movie. Critics consider that the audience can imagine different scenarios with his work. For example, the photographs of globes frantically glowing in a snowy landscape can portray the audience into thinking that the globes are aliens who have invaded planet earth and are investigating this bizarre place.
US solo exhibition featured Rune several times and cant help but to let everyone know where Rune Guneriussen publishes a new photograph. They depict his artworks as ethereal photographic works creating breathtaking art installations of magical images that look like a scene from a fairy tale. US solo exhibition explains that the photographs are quite fascinating in many ways, conveying that Guneriussen creatse unique photos that give us a rare glimpse into the stunning, untouched nature that surrounds him while providing just enough whimsy that we actually feel ourselves getting lost in his magical world.
The audience also characterises Rune Guneriussens works into their interpretation. Nerea Egula, is a person who has a vast interest in his work, and explains that every time she looks into one of Guneriussens installations, she can feel a lot of serenity and calm approached towards them. Guneriussen can perfectly match our daily objects and camouflage them into the beauties of the Norwegian nature. Nerea states that it is interesting in ways about how he is able still keep the wilderness of the landscape, without letting the added objects damage their essence of the surroudings. There is a great deal of magic in the artworks. The mysteriously foggy forests and lakes are suddenly slightly lightened up, but the lamps are there as if they were part of the nature, acquiring a beautiful and delicate mystic vibe. Nerea points out "Its even funny how the objects can even look like little strangers that have grown from the earth".
Increasingly, recycled goods are being turned into art or are being repurposed for all sorts of use and this has the audience thinking about what beautiful and interesting things they might be able to create in the garden with the placement of something completely out of the ordinary.
Rune Guneriussens installations have been unquestionably successful in ways of which he interprets the world, audience and subject matters into his photograph.
