RUNE GUNERIUSSEN
overview of Rune as an artist

Guneriussen started working on his objects in 2005. He successfully combines medias of work (photography, installation, sculpture) on a large scale installation which is process involving the objects, story, space and most important the time it is made within. He uses an analogue played camera with extremely high resolution to capture the photographic coverage of a constructed configuration in his artwork.
Most of Rune Guneriussens photographs are taken in his primary country that he was born in, Norway. His family raised him in a remote area surrounded by nature, and as a result, his artworks have been pursued in nature, where he will strive to stay in for the rest of his career. He has been attentive to the way of nature as he finds the true knowledge aggrandise in nature than a normal urban area.
Gunerriussen takes a long time scolding for remote locations, and at times, travelling over 500 km to find the preferred area to sculpture and photograph his work. Once Rune finds a convenient area, he is to haul all his objects by foot to the area, carrying them over difficult terrain. To fine the impeccable spot, he searches for the rhythm and composition of the nature and whether nature really implies in his work. When he is designated to the area, it will help him direct him in how he is going to praise his work. Time is an important essence of a perfect artwork, and to do so, Guneriussen writes his ideas down instead of sketching a picture, this way he can develop and reconsider his ideas overtime.
In Rune Guneriussens artworks, heis frequently looking for sides of prostein natural beauty which he transforms into large scale installations using everyday objects. His work explores people and their environment, and therefore the images they evoke question the wisdom of mass production. On a day where Rune was sitting beside a bonfire, he was startled by the movement and illusion of the fire and therefore started to think about our own existence and reflect upon why we are here. He explains "it was all like a magical illusion, everything beginned then at that moment".
Rune Guneriussen is influenced in his work in many factors of ways. He is hugely influenced in the way nature grows and develops, how he can mimic nature, but at the same time say something about where we are today. He feels that he is more motivated in his work if it was set in a reticent and meditative space.
"I would like to say that i am inspired by the objects i'm working o, the place or location i am working at, and the specific time everything is made in. My imagination can just be easily inspired by global events and politics as it can be inspird as looking at a bird flying across the sky. But i also relate back this inspiration from my artistic development and the real time put into making a work like i do" Rune Guneriusen explains.
Rune Guneriussen has immensely moved beyond the concepts of art as he has thought about how the audience connects with his work. He wanted the audience to get in close and see everything at the smallest detail, for him, that is an important factor in the audiences communication with the photograph. The small details in nature all of a sudden is something the audience pays attention to which they wouldnt of done if they were walking through the area the photo was taken in. This is the importnace of obtaining a good quality camera. Guneriussen quotes "the notion of being by the ocean is the same as being in the top of the mountains"; Guneriussen expresses this in his artworks to have an extensive feeling of freedom. He ensures the audience with the feeling of energy, that the artwork is alive.
